[DogParkList] MacLoggerDX integration with fldigi

Hi Mike,

Suspect it will never happen. fldigi is an X11 based open source
application which has been compiled to work on Mac OS X. It will
likely not have any unique Mac technologies like Applescript or
AppleEvents added to it. For that to happen a developer would have to
break away from original source code and develop a whole new Macfligi.

Serial.... Only one program can talk to radio because they both want
to use the same serial port to the radio and having both trying
wouldn't a good thing as I hope you can imagine.

CocoaModem is a Mac OS X only program and so is MacLoggerDX and both
take advantage of Applescript and AppleEvents to make the the
experience a seemless one. Aka you have been spoiled by the
developers good work and a unique feature of the Mac OS. :-)

flidigi, because it's generic multiplatform code base, is also not
optimized for Mac OS X. If you open up activity monitor and sort by
CPU you will note fldigi consumes much more processing power than
CocoaModem does. Not a big deal really but again shows how Mac OS X
programs can take advantage of performance feature where as straight
compiled UNIX code typically can't.

Hope this helps.
