Rig: Icom IC-718 w/one of those "tune mode" plug adapters from
Quicksilver radio
USB Interface: MicroHam IC-13 (13-pin connector for Icom 706, 718 &
others), latest Mac drivers from chip maker
Mac: PowerMac G4 Digital Audio, 1.2 Ghz Sonnet processor, 1.5 GB RAM,
Mac OS 10.3.6, iMic
MacLoggerProDX: 4.0.1
MultiMode: 5.1.0

I've been running MacLogger Pro DX on my G4 for a couple months now,
and have had the key and ACC cables disconnected. Yesterday, I added a
cable to the ACC connector to bring audio into my Mac (via iMic) for
MultiMode.

The cable I added required that I make connections to the 13-pin plug
on the McroHam, but after checking & double-checking, there were no
shorts.

The problem: Now, when tuning across the bands, the 718 will go into
transmit mode for about half a second at seemingly random intervals. It
sometimes happens when I stop tuning, other times when I just start.
Sometimes when I don't have a hand on the radio or keyboard.

It happens going *Both* ways on the tuning dial, at all tuning steps.
It does **NOT** happen when I use the Griffin PowerMate to tune the
radio in 1Khz steps.

If I leave the tuning dial set, it normally does not key up, though
some times it will if I recently tuned using the main dial on the
radio. Changing bands does not seem to be a problem.

It's not the tune mode device or radio setting, as the key-up is only
about half a second, and happens with the tune mode device removed.

I don't know if there is any flash memory in the MicroHam IC-13 that
can be changed, or if there is a setting in MacLoggerPro DX that would
help.

For the record, the "prefs" in MacLogger Pro for the communication with
the 718 are:
port: usbserial-FT2XSWCG
Radio: ICOM IC-718
Baud: 9600
SBits: 1
Delay: 13.00 ms.
Icom Addr: 5E h
DTR: **NOT** checked
RTS: **NOT** checked
