Most of the Icom radios use the CI-V protocol for CAT control and 
require a CT-17 interface box.
The CT-17 can interface 1 computer (RS-232) to a number of Icom radios, 
since each radio may have it's own unique address.
One nice thing about this is that the cable and connector from the CT-17 
to each radio is very simple and inexpensive. The CT-17 is not however 
inexpensive.
