A Message from Joi Noel

I reflect on nearly three years at Congregation B’nai Israel (CBI), I am
filled with immense gratitude for the warm embrace and unwavering support
you have shown me. CBI has truly become my second home, a place where I’ve
absorbed the richness of Jewish traditions while sharing laughter, joy, and
great events with all of you. It has been an absolute honor to serve and be
a part of this vibrant community. While I’ll deeply miss CBI, I leave with a
heart full of cherished memories. This is not a goodbye, but rather a “see
you later.” Praying for great success for CBI and each of you. Wishing you a
“Joious” and healthy new year!

Remembering Brenda Eisenberg z”l on Her 10th Yahrzeit 

 

Saturday, January 6th // CBI

Brenda Eisenberg was a pillar of our congregation for over 50 years. Though
she was known primarily as “the kiddush lady” (our kitchen is dedicated and
named for her), Brenda was involved in so many aspects of CBI life and made
a huge impact on the day-to-day life of CBI in her own unique way.

On Shabbat morning services January 6th, we will honor Brenda’s life and
legacy and toast her memory at kiddush.

We ask for your participation by sharing a story or memory about Brenda.

Friday, January 5th // CBI

Bim Bam Shabbat for Young Families and concurrent program for K-3rd Graders
at 5:30 p.m.

Join us for our special Shabbat experience for our families with young
children. In January, we are introducing our first program for K-3rd grades
at Erev Shabbat Live! Starting at 5:30 pm, concurrent with Bim Bam, join
Laurie Kavowras for stories and activities.

Shabbat Dinner at 6:00 p.m.

There is no cost for dinner, but please register

Eat, relax, and schmooze with your CBI friends. Kid-friendly, vegetarian,

Bookends With Sisterhood Returns!

We will be discussing Kantika by Elizabeth Graver.

Elizabeth Graver began writing her fifth novel,

Kantika, in 2014, but the Turkish Sephardic dressmaker at the heart of the
multi-generational, continent-spanning saga has been with her for a
lifetime. That’s because she was inspired by Graver’s maternal grandmother,
Rebecca (née Cohen) Baruch Levy.

Weekday Minyan Services at CBI

Please join us for our online morning and evening Minyan gatherings on Zoom.

Your support and participation are appreciated. Services last approximately
30 minutes and enable mourners to recite kaddish for a loved one with a
yahrzeit.
