This Shabbat morning, we welcome Joy Pincus, an Israeli-American who lives
in a small village in the Galilee.  In New Jersey to visit family, she'll
share with us the Israeli perspective on the current situation and will

friends who will join CBI's clergy in creating a soulful Kabbalat Shabbat

Israel Themed Singing & Dancing – Gourmet Comfort food -- Cocktails

Although our hearts are heavy as we enter the festive season of Chanukah, we
will come together – as we should – to be with each other, eat with each
other and dance with each other as a community. We will honor and celebrate
individuals connected to CBI that have served or are serving in the Israeli
military.

Also, we invite you to participate in this year’s “Israel Themed” Video
Journal. It will feature our congregation’s Connection to Israel.  Please
send in (to  <mailto:mikeslifer at verizon.net> mikeslifer at verizon.net or
<mailto:dsotnick14 at gmail.com> dsotnick14 at gmail.com) up to 4 photos taken in
Israel that represent meaningful times for you and your family and/or
friends, whether Israeli or not, have spent in Israel.   For $40, we will
put together a meaningful video journal (with the pictures and other
features) that will be displayed in the CBI Lobby for the second half of
December and at the Chanukah Dinner on a large screen (or two).  We will
also send you a link to the video.

The fee is $50 per person through Thursday, December 10th, and $60 per
person through December 14th. No registrations will be accepted after 12/14.

Honor Roll For Those That Have Served In The Israeli Military

For this year's Men's Club Chanukah Party, we will be celebrating,
remembering and honoring those at CBI are serving or have served in the
Israeli military, and also family members of CBI congregants that are
serving or have served. Please email names and information to Amanda at
aabbate@ <http://cbi-nj.org/> cbi-nj.org , or stop in the office. We will
display the names of those CBI members or relatives in an Honor Roll in the
CBI lobby from mid-December through year end, and at the Chanukah Dinner.

Thank you so much for supporting this effort in recognizing those that we
have so much to be thankful for!

Bookends With Sisterhood Returns!

We will be discussing Kantika by Elizabeth Graver.

Elizabeth Graver began writing her fifth novel,

Kantika, in 2014, but the Turkish Sephardic dressmaker at the heart of the
multi-generational, continent-spanning saga has been with her for a
lifetime. That’s because she was inspired by Graver’s maternal grandmother,
Rebecca (née Cohen) Baruch Levy.

The discussion will be moderated by Sara Sherman.
