Dear Congregants,

Thank you for your outpouring of support toward the war effort in Israel and
facilitating my participation in the Solidarity Mission next week.

Now that flight tickets have been purchased and land costs finalized, the
total actual cost of the trip is about half of my initial projection.
Therefore, thanks to your quick action, I've fully covered those expenses
and am all set to represent CBI in Israel next week.

The surplus funds in my possession and any additional pledges you make will
be injected directly into the Israeli economy. My priority will be to
purchase goods while in Israel and distribute them to evacuees and others.

As well, once we meet with organizations on the ground in Israel, I will
identify specific projects and areas of immediate support to which I will
contribute your funds.

If you were planning to contribute to my discretionary fund, you certainly
still can. But please know that actual costs for me to participate are lower
than my initial estimate, so I'm fully set to go. Your contribution will
therefore go directly to the war effort as an infusion of cash into the
Israeli economy / to the good organizations doing critical work.

Shabbat Shalom

Rabbi Isenberg

Discussion on Israel with Sisterhood

Thursday, November 2nd // 6:30 pm // MPR

CBI Sisterhood is offering members an opportunity to learn more about
Israel's past and present. This will be a two- part discussion on Israel,
moderated by Lisa Friedman and Barbara Ismail.

Part one is scheduled for Thursday, November 2nd at 6:30 PM at CBI.

We will unpack our questions about Israel's history and the current
situation followed by an open forum to share and discuss our thoughts. We
encourage all to read Israel, by Noa Tishby which provides a clear and
readable account of Israel's history. Tishby debunks many misperceptions and
provides clear perspectives for us to better understand Israel and her
challenges.

Part two scheduled for Tuesday, November 21st at 7 PM at CBI.

We will have an open discussion based on topics raised in Tishby's book. We
will discuss and share our learning to deepen our understandings. We will
consider opportunities for us to be equipped to enter conversations with
factual evidence that supports Israel and the Jewish people.

Please RSVP to Barbara Ismail at 973 462 5971.
