[CBI] Tonight & This Week

Dear Congregants,

 

As a follow-up to yesterday's email and my video messages, I have 4 items to
bring to your attention today. 

 

(1) 8pm Minyan Tonight -- If being together in person will bring you
comfort, we invite you to join us at CBI this evening for Ma'ariv at 8pm. It
will be a typical weeknight service, but I will plan to stick around after
davvening to sit with anyone who wishes to talk, to share, to listen, or to
simply sit quietly, together  (minyan also available via Zoom, as usual)

 

(2) 10am Thursday Morning -- I am arranging a special live update from
Israel with writer and journalist Sarah Tuttle-Singer, who works for the
Times of Israel. Sarah plans to join us via Zoom, with the caveat that if
she is running to or taking shelter in a bomb shelter, she may have to
cancel last-minute.  Such is the reality in Israel these days.

(3) CBI's new Chair of Israel Affairs, Ariel Dybner, has compiled an
impressive list of resources and action items.  I urge you to read his
report, attached to this email. We'll also invite Ariel to address the
congregation at a Shabbat in the near future with further updates.

 

(4) Millburn Schools' Superintendent sent out a disappointing note to
parents yesterday commenting on the situation without actually naming
Israel, Jews, or any other specific information.  I penned a response to
her, attached to this email for your reference.
