Please join us for 'Pre-prayer' for the High Holidays - CBI's inspirational
Rosh Hashanah song and chant circle with musical accompaniment! We will
focus on key verses highlighting and interpreting the Rosh Hashanah liturgy.
We then join in song as we learn and sing these words together in simple yet
compelling melody and rhythm.
Our aim is to awaken the divine in our hearts through music. Singing these

prior knowledge of Hebrew or singing ability necessary . only a willingness
to join in spiritual community. For more information contact Len Hausman:

This Week's Tip from.
The CBI Alliance for Sustainability
"The only biodiversity we're going to have left is Coke versus
Pepsi....We're landscaping the whole world one stupid mistake at a time."
Chuck Palahniuk
If you have passed by the corner of South Orange Ave. and Cherry Lane, you
might have noticed a white cover over large portions of the meadow. The
South Mountain Conservancy's Citizen Science Program has taken a one-acre
plot that has traditionally been a mowed field and is returning it to its
natural state. They are creating a pollinator meadow to increase
biodiversity and to help manage the habitat for bees, butterflies, moths,
and birds. If you would like to help with this project, please contact
<mailto:citizenscience at somocon.org> citizenscience at somocon.org. What the
Conservancy is doing on a large scale, you can do on a smaller scale in your
own yard. By replacing sections of grass with native plants you will
conserve water, reduce pollution, and create biodiversity. Check out this
interesting post from the New York Times on creating an ecologically
responsible garden that is also beautiful.
