Join us in the Chapel as we pre-prayer for the High Holidays at our
inspirational Rosh Hashanah chant and song circle with musical
accompaniment.
We focus on key verses from the High Holiday liturgy, exploring their
meaning. We then sing the text as we join together with our voices in simple
yet compelling, melody and rhythm.
The intention of chanting is to awaken the divine in our hearts. It can
soothe the mind and at the very least is simply fun to do! No prior
knowledge of Hebrew or singing ability necessary

Talmud Study
Origins of Jewish Worship
with Rabbi Akiba Lubow
Full-Year Class on Monday Evenings starting September 9
7:30 to 9:00 p.m.
In this class we will enter the extraordinary world of the Talmud, arguably
the most important Jewish text after the Torah. Written down between 1,500
and 1,800 years ago, well discover how relevant its teachings are today!
While focusing on the Origins of Jewish Prayer, we will also learn about
traditions and theological tenets that have stood the test of time, as well
as practices and teachings that serve as the foundations for the way we live
Judaism today.
This course is appropriate for both beginners and those who have already
studied Talmud. Knowledge of Hebrew is not a prerequisite. While it is not
necessary to attend every week, a relatively regular pattern of attendance
will enhance understanding the course material.

Help Send Kids to Jewish Camps
Tour de Summer Camps NJ is a community fundraising event organized by the
Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ with four amazing routes for
cyclists of all skill levels. Plus Family Fun Day Activities!
Proceeds make it possible for more children across Greater MetroWest NJ to
have the life-changing experience of attending Jewish summer camp. Studies
show that summers spent at Jewish camp empower Jewish young people to become
spirited and engaged Jewish adults, thereby laying the groundwork for
strong, vibrant Jewish communities for future generations.

CBI Awarded 2019-20
Security Personnel Grant
We are pleased to announce that CBI is once again a recipient of a NJ
Homeland Security Pilot Program Personnel Reimbursement Grant. This funding
permits us to have a uniformed, armed guard at various services and programs
when the building is accessible to the public.
While nobody can assure that a facility will be 100% safe at all times,
having a visible, uniformed security officer present is yet one another step
in providing a safe and secure environment.
You can submit Tribute Donations online, conveniently billed to your CBI
statement!
