Tisha B'Av Services at CBI  

Tisha B'Av, the Fast of the Ninth of Av, is a day of mourning which
commemorates the destruction of the first and second Temples, both of which
were destroyed on the ninth of Av. It is also appropriate to consider on
this day other tragedies of the Jewish people, many of which occurred on
this day, most notably the expulsion of the Jews from Spain in 1492. 

Erev Tisha B'Av - Saturday, August 10 at 9:00 p.m. (including Maariv and
Havdalah)

*	We will read from the Book of Lamentations, also known as Eicha.
This will be chanted using special musical notations that create a tone of
weeping and mourning. Candles will be available for the reading of Eicha.
Rabbi Resnick will lead a short discussion on the "Meaning of Tisha B'Av in
2019." Special kinot will be read and we will join Cantor Wallach in the
singing of Eli Tzion.

Tisha B'Av - Sunday, August 11 at 8:00 a.m.

*	During the service on Tisha B'Av morning, special prayers of
mourning, called kinot, will be read.
