Rabbi Paul Resnick

Interim Rabbi

The Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that Rabbi Paul F. Resnick will
be our Interim Rabbi for the coming year.

Many of you may know Rabbi Resnick because of his 30+ year tenure at Camp
Ramah in the Berkshires where he served as Camp Director and most recently,
Senior Engagement and Planning Director.

Rabbi Resnick is excited to be joining our congregation and will officially

Yaldeinu

Meet & Greet

Thursday, July 11 at 7:00 p.m.

We are proud to announce that Yaldeinu, CBI’s Shabbat service for families
with children and young adults with special needs, will be returning to CBI
in the fall with Beth Horowitz Giladi leading services!

Beth, a licensed clinical social worker with a background in the field of
special education, has been involved in education, both formal and informal,
for over 30 years. She spent 16 summers at Camp Ramah, predominately working
with the Tikvah Program for campers with special needs, and has worked as
special education teacher and social worker for 28 years in the South
Orange/Maplewood and Springfield public schools.

Come meet Beth – and enjoy some cold treats – and here whyYaldeinuis Beth’s
favorite service at CBI. For many years, she has said that this is a “feel
good” participatory experience and the adults love it as much as the
participants!

Screening of On the Basis of Sex

Thursday, July 11

Lunch begins at 12:30 p.m. The program begins at 1:00 p.m.

 Join us to screen On the Basis of Sex.  Ruth Bader Ginsburg is a struggling
attorney and new mother who faces adversity and numerous obstacles in her
fight for equal rights. When Ruth takes on a groundbreaking tax case with
her husband, attorney Martin Ginsburg, she knows it could change the
direction of her career and the way the courts view gender discrimination.
Come and compare this film to the documentary, RGB, that we viewed in early
October.

Screening of Stan & Ollie

Thursday, July 18

Lunch begins at 12:30 p.m. The program begins at 1:00 p.m.

Come screen Stan & Ollie.  Laurel and Hardy -- the world's greatest comedy
team -- face an uncertain future as their golden era of Hollywood films
remains long behind them. Diminished by age, the duo set out to reconnect
with their adoring fans by touring variety halls in Britain in 1953. The
shows become an instant hit, but Stan and Ollie can't quite shake the past
as long-buried tension and Hardy's failing health start to threaten their
precious partnership.

Our July programs are one week apart, not our usual two weeks apart.

Our programs are open to all CBI members and the general community.

Daily Minyan

Are you looking to do a mitzvah this month?

Have you considered attending a CBI morning or evening minyan?

With summer days (and summer nights) upon us, a number of our minyan
“regulars” are taking some much-needed vacation. Since there are still
members of our congregation who need a quorum of 10 people to say Kaddish,
what better time to help us and yourself perform the mitzvah of “communal
prayer”?

Schedule of Daily Minyan Services in the Chapel

Morning Minyan

Sunday – 8:00 a.m.

Monday & Thursday – 7:10 a.m.

Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday – 7:15 a.m.

Evening Minyan

Sunday through Thursday – 8:00 p.m.

The morning service runs about an hour; the evening service is just 15
minutes long.
