[CBI] An important CBI Update......

Dear Congregants;

 

      As we say goodbye to Rabbi Bayar and usher in the summer, I would like
to share some updates with you.   The Rabbinic Search Committee has made
important and significant progress towards identifying an interim rabbi for
CBI.   After soliciting and reviewing various resumes for the position, the
Committee has interviewed three rabbinical candidates and soon will be
making its recommendations.  I look forward to introducing you all to our
interim Rabbi this summer. 

 

    Our Director of Congregational Learning, Rabbi Sharon Litwin, has
decided to take a position as Director of Religious School & Family
Engagement at Temple Shaaray Tefila on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
We wish her well in her new position.   The search committee for the
Director of Congregational Learning has been formed and has begun receiving
resumes from interested candidates. 

 

   Join us this Shabbat as we dedicate our beautiful new Torah covers!
There will be an opportunity to appreciate the joy that they bring during
our service and to celebrate as a community at a festive kiddush honoring
our donors.  Come back in the evening for learning sessions at our Tikkun
Leyl Shavuot.

 

   Please come to the Annual Meeting next Tuesday, June 11@ 7:30pm to hear
more about these and other exciting developments at CBI. 

 

   As you may recall from the mailing last month, the Governance Committee
has developed a comprehensive set of recommendations to address
long-standing concerns about CBI board size and composition. We will be
voting on their recommendations at this year's Annual Meeting. I strongly
encourage you to participate in this vote, so that our governance practices
can accurately reflect the broad will of the congregation. Your vote is
important!
