CBI Chanting Circle
The Kabbalah of Music
Sunday May 5 at 5:00 p.m.
Join us in the Chapel for our inspirational Hebrew chant and song circle
with musical accompaniment. In Kabbalah there is a practice of using the
seven weeks between Passover and Shavu'ot as a time of personal and
spiritual renewal. By chanting words from our liturgy and the Zohar favored
by the Kabbalists of Safed we hope to share in this practice.
The intention of chanting is to awaken the divine in our hearts. It can
soothe the mind and at the very least is simply fun to do! No prior
knowledge of Hebrew or singing ability necessary.only a willingness to join
in spiritual community.

Screening of The Wife
Thursday, May 16
Lunch begins at 12:30 p.m. The program begins at 1:00 p.m.
After nearly forty years of marriage, Joan and Joe Castleman (Glenn Close
and Jonathan Pryce) are complements. Where Joe is vain, Joan is
self-effacing. And where Joe enjoys his very public role as Great American
Novelist, Joan pours her considerable intellect, grace, charm, and diplomacy
into the private role of Great Man's Wife. Joe is about to be awarded the
Nobel Prize for his acclaimed and prolific body of work. The Wife
interweaves the story of a lifetime of shared compromises, secrets,
betrayals, and mutual love. Come see why Glen Close's performance won rave
reviews!
Our programs are open to all CBI members and the general community.
By all means, bring friends!
Contact Lois Dyer at 973-533-1809 for details and to place your lunch order.
The cost is $10 for Adult Forum members & partners // $12 for community
participants
