THIS Sunday, March 24 // 9:00 - 10:30 a.m.

EDGE (Eclectic Discussion Group Event) is CBI's new informal discussion
group. These sessions draw upon the expertise, experience, and interests of
congregants to present programs on a variety of topics. Two topics will be
presented, with time for Q&A.

The Art of Mediation

Presented by Harriet F. Klein

People involved in disputes often feel that they have no control when
dealing with the legal system. The solution may lie in the process known as
mediation, in which the parties can determine their outcome with the help of
a neutral facilitator, in a confidential and informal setting -- and never
enter a courtroom. This retired judge (who presently works as a mediator and
arbitrator) will tell you what you need to know about an efficient and
economical way to avoid or resolve litigation.

The Hand in Art

Presented by Alex Marcus

After the head and face, hands are the most expressive part of the human
body. We will explore: the hand of God; the hand as subject and creator of
art;the hand as self-contained work of art; the hand as a symbol; the hand
in 20th century art; hand injury and disease in art; and hand surgeon
artists.

Refreshments will be served.

Screening of Green Book

Thursday, April 4

Lunch begins at 12:30 p.m. The program begins at 1:00 p.m.

Join us to screen the winner of the "Best Picture" Oscar. When Tony Lip
(Vigo Mortensen), a bouncer from an Italian- American neighborhood in the
Bronx, is hired to drive Dr. Don Shirley (Mahershala Ali), a world-class
Black pianist, on a concert tour from Manhattan to the Deep South, they must
rely on the Green Book to guide them to the few establishments that were
then safe for African-Americans. Confronted with racism, danger as well as
unexpected humanity and humor, they were forced to set aside their
differences and learned to thrive and survive on their journey of a
lifetime. Please come to see this Best Picture Academy Award winning film.

Our programs are open to all CBI members and the general community.

By all means, bring friends!

Contact Lois Dyer at 973-533-1809 for details and to place your lunch order.
