ISRAEL UPDATE
from CBI Israel Affairs Committee
We hope that you have had an opportunity to help support Israel during this
time of conflict, either by providing financial support, political support,
or prayer support.
The most important thing you can do is provide moral support.
We have recently become aware of two Solidarity Trips which you may
consider:
The Conservative movement is sponsoring a trip to Israel from August
18-August 21 led by the Rabbinical Assembly, United Synagogue for
Conservative Judaism and, the Masorti Foundation. For more information, or
to sign up for the trip, please visit the following website or call ITC
Tours 800 247 7235:

asp
The JNF also has a tour planned -- L'Chaim Soidarity Mission II is scheduled
for August 24-August 28

n Donations are still being collected for Mens Club and Sisterhoods
fundraising initiative to demonstrate our solidarity and support of the IDF.
Click HERE <http://jfedgmw.org/page.aspx?id=268661> for more information
about all Federation community efforts on behalf of Israel.
The funerals of Israeli soldiers affects us all in different ways. Amuta is
a non-profit organization based in Israel that provides services for
girlfriends and fiancées of soldiers, as there is no state-sponsored
recognition or support. If you are moved to help support girlfriends,
boyfriends and fiancées of fallen soldiers, please read about this group
HERE <http://www.goodpeoplefund.org/program/amuta/> , on the Good People
Fund website.
Finally, a simple, meaningful and effective way for families to support
Israel is to purchase products made in Israel. It is easy to "BUY ISRAEL.
For example, if you need a gift, consider using our own Sisterhood gift shop
or any of the other shops in the area that carry goods made in Israel. If
you need spices, buy from the section in your local grocery that carries
those from Israel. If you need wine, purchase Israeli brands in the local
stores. And, if you buy snacks or chocolates for children, buy Elite or
other Israel brands.
As a reminder previous updates can be found in the CBI Blog
