[CBI] Update from Cantor Wallach

Dear Friends,

In the Hebrew month of Adar (the month in which Purim occurs), according to
the rabbinic discussion in the Talmud, we should increase our joy. I am
happy to report, and I'm sure you'll be happy to hear, that my treatments
are progressing relatively smoothly (yes, I have hit some "pot holes" along
the way. but haven't we all this winter!!!). I had my eighth and final round
of Chemo on January 27 and I am glad and grateful to have that behind me
now. I have spent the past few weeks trying to regain some physical and
mental strength while also planning for the next phases of my treatment.

I am having another surgery tomorrow (which should not be a cause of
concern, as it was always part of the original treatment plan) and following
a few weeks of recovery, I will begin a 6 week course of daily radiation
treatment. Fortunately for me, the radiation center is closed on the
weekends, so it shouldn't interfere with my ability to be in synagogue on
Shabbat! If all goes according to schedule, I could complete my treatment by
late spring.

I do read and cherish all of the beautifully touching and encouraging
emails, cards and messages you've sent and they continue to give me strength
and sustenance during this difficult time. Mike and I are so appreciative of
all the support, concern, prayers and good wishes that keep steadily flowing
in, as well as all the offers to assist us with whatever we may need. 

Thank you again for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers. I join you in
praying for a Refu'ah Shleimah, a return to wholeness, to all those who are
need of healing.
